Remaining responsive to the needs of citizens
The Ministère de la Justice is aware of the need to improve its services on an ongoing basis, and welcomes comments from the general public.
The Bureau des plaintes has been established to receive and process complaints, remarks and suggestions concerning the services offered by the Department, and the conduct, decisions and performance of its staff members.
The Statement of Services Available to Citizens of the Ministère de la Justice clearly states the Department’s responsibility for dealing with complaints and continually improving its services. If the Department fails to achieve one of the service objectives described in the Statement, you should first inform the head of the service or the service head's supervisor. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can use the Comments and Complaints form to make a complaint.

COMPLAINTS THAT DO NOT COME UNDER THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MINISTÈRE DE LA JUSTICE
Complaints concerning a decision by a court of law or administrative tribunal, or concerning a breach of professional conduct
Complaints concerning a decision by a court of law or an administrative tribunal, or concerning a breach of professional conduct by a judge, lawyer, notary, bailiff or police officer, should be sent to the organization concerned.
Complaints concerning criminal and penal prosecutions
Since March 15, criminal and penal prosecutions have been under the responsibility of the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales, who heads an organizations that is independent of the Ministère de la Justice. Complaints concerning criminal and penal prosecutions should be sent to this organization ..
Complaints concerning the Directeur de l'état civil
Since April 1, 2008, the Directeur de l'état civil has been under the responsibility of Services Québec. Until the Registrar’s systems have been fully integrated with those of the service quality bureau at Services Québec, complaints concerning the Directeur de l'état civil should be sent to the Directeur de l'état civil .
