The following texts were written by a group of students in the history department at Université Laval, under the supervision of Alain Laberge. The findings of their research on various aspects of the administration of justice in New France between 1608 and 1760 were first published on the Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France de Québec website in 2003.
The documents contain valuable information on the early stages of our justice system and the Ministère de la Justice is pleased to make them available to the public, as did the Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France, by posting them on the department's website.
