NOTES
1. The Act respecting the Barreau du Québec (R.S.Q., c. B-1) is under the responsibility of the Minister of Justice as the minister responsible for professional laws. However, the Schedule for the Legal Fees of Lawyers (R.R.Q., c. B-1, r. 13) is distinct from the regulations adopted under the professional laws in that it gives lawyers rights with respect to individuals with whom they have not signed an agreement.
2. The Minister of Justice is responsible for administering the Civil Code of Québec (1991, c. 64), except for the provisions concerning registers and acts of civil status, which come under the responsibility of the Registrar of Civil Status, a member of the personnel of Services Québec. Similarly, the provisions concerning the registration of land, the organization and inspection of the Land Registry Office and the registry offices established in each registration division in Québec, the superintendence of the Land Registrar and the registrar’s assistants, cadastral reform, the updating of cadastral information and the publication of cadastral data, come under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Natural Resources pursuant to paragraphs 17 to 17.4 of section 12 of the Act respecting the Ministère des Ressources naturelles (R.S.Q., c. M-25.2).
