The legal officers at the Direction générale des affaires juridiques et législatives (DGAJL), the legal and legislative affairs division of Québec’s Ministère de la Justice, together make up the largest team of public law specialists in Québec. The team of around 350 legal officers provides the Québec government with services in sectors ranging from healthcare, information technology, the environment and international, Aboriginal and constitutional law, to human rights and freedoms. The DGAJL also acts as legal advisor to Québec’s Minister of Justice to support the Minister’s role as Attorney General and Notary General of Québec.

The DGAJL constitutes a network of legal experts working for the government, as highlighted by its slogan, Notre réseau, votre force ! (“Our network, your strength”). It has three divisions:
