Bar school articling students
The École du Barreau website  is used by the Ministère de la Justice to advertise articling positions.
Most articling positions are offered by the Direction générale des affaires juridiques et législatives at the Ministère. It invites applications twice a year: once in September, for positions beginning the following January, and once in January, for positions beginning the following May. This recruitment and selection process is aimed at applicants who have completed bar school and are ready to begin articling.
In general, the Ministère gives priority to applicants who have already passed the Québec public service recruitment examination , so that they can be hired as casual employees after articling, if a position is available, in compliance with the Public Service Act .
Each fall, one of the recruitment competitions is reserved for students about to graduate from a university law program. Students already at bar school are also eligible. Potential participants should look out for the announcement of the competition, and as many people as possible should apply. The information is posted by university career offices, at the public service website Portail Carrières de la fonction publique québécoise , and in bar school training centres .
