Madeleine Plamondon, president and director of the Service d’aide au consommateur, received the Prix de la justice for her dedication and ardent defence of the rights and interests of consumers for 45 years. Deeply committed to the right to equality for everyone, she proved that justice does not fall exclusively within the competence of courts and lawyers. As a long-time militant, she participated actively in the parliamentary committee which provided Québec society with its first Consumer Protection Act.
