Death Certificates

A death certificate or a copy of one proves the legal nature of a death, establishes succession, and terminates coverage for healthcare, car insurance, retirement pensions, social assistance, etc. It also allows the date of death benefits for spouses to be determined, notably for Québec pensions. It indicates the name and sex of the person, the place and date of death, the registration number and the date of issue of the certificate.
