Jean-Yves Vachon

Jean-Yves Vachon is an exceptional person who worked with courage and determination for the well-being of people in metropolitan Montréal who are hard of hearing. He dedicated years of his life, working alone towards bridging the gap between those who are hard of hearing and those who are not. 

He is the author of many publications and popularization tools aimed at informing people who are hard of hearing and at making the population aware of their reality. He was responsible for the creation of the first video on the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms in Québec sign language.
