Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu founded the Murdered or Missing Persons' Families' Association (MMPFA). The Association represents families whose loved ones have been murdered or have gone missing and offers them support and advice.
Since the tragic death of his daughter Julie in 2002, Mr. Boisvenu has devoted considerable energy to defending the rights and interests of victims' families, travelling throughout Québec to meet with other families who have suffered the same cruel fate and to lend a sympathetic ear to their troubles.
He has also actively taken part in forums and seminars, all the while offering his services as a resource person in establishing partnerships with community, government and law enforcement organizations.
Through his duties as chair and spokesperson for the MMPFA, Mr. Boisvenu has turned his personal tragedy into the driving force behind his service to others.
