Preparation for a civil union

Forming a civil union is a legal act. For this reason, you and your intended spouse must take certain steps:

• before your civil union is solemnized;
• when your civil union is solemnized.

These steps are in addition to everything else you have to do, such as sending out invitations, choosing a caterer and reserving and decorating the room.
