The Community Impact Statement allows a community to describe the impact of an offence.

The community may state, in writing, the harm, loss or other impacts caused by the offence. 

The harm, loss or other impacts reported may involve:

  • Emotional harm: feeling of insecurity, fear, etc.; 
  • Physical harm: changes to transportation needs, etc.; 
  • Economic loss:  cost of additional security measures, loss of property value, replacement, repair or cleaning of property, etc.; 
  • Safety fears: concerns about contact with the offender, etc. 

The community must complete the form Community Impact Statement (SJ-1117B).
