The Small Claims Division is part of the Civil Division of the Court of Québec. It hears all claims up to $15,000 made by:

  • a natural person, or
  • a legal person, partnership, association or other group not endowed with juridical personality that employed no more than ten persons in the twelve months prior to the claim.

The claims are generally referred to as small claims.

The Small Claims Division hears some tax-related claims, involving both income tax and other types of tax.
