Registry of class actions
You can use the registry of class actions to check if you are affected by a class action filed in Québec. It gives access to a range of information about class actions filed since January 1, 2009 in a Québec courthouse.
Lawyers and the general public can use the registry to obtain information. It provides access to the main pleadings, as well as to court judgments and the notices issued to class members.
For class actions instituted prior to January 1, 2009 and class actions instituted elsewhere in Canada since January 1, 2007, you can consult the Class Action Database on the website of the Canadian Bar Association.
The registry is not identical to the civil court ledger for class action cases. Only the pleadings and documents filed in the court record are considered to be official documents.
