Notice of closure of inventory

When the inventory is complete, the liquidator must register a notice of closure in the register of personal and movable real rights. This is done by means of the General Application for Registration form.

The liquidator must also confirm the registration of the notice of closure and notify the following people of the place at which the inventory may be consulted:

  • the heirs;
  • the successors who have not yet accepted or refused the succession;
  • the legatees by particular title;
  • the creditors.

In many cases, the inventory is made available for consultation at the liquidator’s home.

The liquidator must also have a notice of closure of inventory published in a daily or weekly newspaper distributed in the locality where the deceased’s principal residence was located at the time of death.

The notice must:

  • establish the deceased’s identity;
  • state where interested parties must go to consult the inventory.

The General Application for Registration form contains all the information required for the notice.
