Loss of the protection of voluntary deposit in the event of bakruptcy

If you declare personal bankruptcy and have an active voluntary deposit file, the notice of stay of the trustee in bankruptcy will not cause your file to be closed. By law, only a decision to waive the benefit of voluntary deposit, or the payment of all your registered debts, allows the closure of your file.

To close your voluntary deposit file after declaring bankruptcy, you must either:

The  notice of stay of the trustee in bankruptcy, accompanied by a transfer of your property, will suspend your voluntary deposit file. Any outstanding amounts that have already been deposited will then belong to the trustee.
